The Guelph Manufacturing Institute was established in May 2025, which aims to lead the advancement of manufacturing research through innovative and interdisciplinary approaches focusing on sustainability, smart systems and advanced technologies. We are dedicated to fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment where researchers and industry can drive scientific excellence, promote sustainable manufacturing, and contribute to the betterment of society.

What We Do
Our research is strongly connected to industry needs, with active collaborations involving advanced machine tool technologies, smart sensors, real-time data analytics, and next-generation materials and tooling.
Funding support is provided through grants and contracts from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), Ontario-based Centres of Excellence, and partnerships with leading companies across Canada, the United States, and internationally.
